Fall 2021: GRIN Is G2 Leader & #1 in Influencer Marketing Software
This latest G2 Fall Report marks the third straight quarter that GRIN has been named the top influencer marketing platform for ecommerce and direct-to-consumer brands.
What is a G2 Leader?
G2.com, a software discovery platform and top SaaS review service, gathers verified user feedback and industry research to identify product category leaders.
G2 publishes quarterly reports for each industry where it names SaaS leaders, along with a detailed analysis to assist customers who are searching for software solutions. The report includes individual scoring within specific functionality and customer service categories to help customers compare similar leading platforms.
How does a software become #1 on G2?
G2 names several leaders within each industry every quarter. To rank number one on G2, GRIN has to achieve the top aggregated G2 score. The G2 ranking system uses all information gathered from the quarterly report and applies a proprietary algorithm “to calculate Satisfaction and Market Presence scores in real time.”

G2 Fall Report
G2 leverages a crowd scoring model to analyze software solutions and then plot each platform on a grid (as seen above). The Grid quadrants help customers identify each solution by its relevant sector:

The full G2 report offers both an Index Report and Momentum Report. All the information contained in these reports informs G2’s ranking algorithms and Grid placement.
What is G2 crowd scoring?
“G2 scores products and vendors based on reviews gathered from our user community, as well as data aggregated from online sources and social networks. We apply a unique algorithm (v3.0) to this data to calculate the customer Satisfaction and Market Presence scores in real time.” – G2.com
G2 scores every platform on a scale of 1-5 stars. A critical piece for each software rating is verified user feedback. After verifying a client review, G2 publishes the user’s score and full description for all to see.
When collecting and analyzing verified user reviews, G2 uses the following criteria:
- How recently the review took place
- Reliable confirmation that the reviewer used the product
- How much detail and information the review contains
- G2 community members’ feedback on any published reviews
- Evidence that the user implemented the product in depth
At the conclusion of a review, customers are encouraged to indicate on scale of 1-10 how likely they are to recommend the product to peers and G2 users.
