SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The GRIN team flocked to sunny Sacramento on Wednesday, September 14, to attend GRIN Summit 2022: ELEVATE.
Upon arrival, team members headed throughout the city to give back to GRIN’s hometown. From helping care for animals of all kinds at the SPCA to cleaning up Southside Park and even packing wellness kits for local people in need, GRIN employees showed up in force to help.
Among the other opening day festivities, GRINners got the opportunity to finally see their coworkers in real life, rather than in a box on a Zoom screen, at the opening reception. The evening was punctuated by moving speeches from GRIN co-founder and CEO Brandon Brown and co-founder and President Brian Mechem.
On day two, Brown, Mechem, and additional members of GRIN’s senior leadership led talks on the company’s future, held Q&A sessions with employees, and more.
The team also welcomed some guests to the stage, including keynote speaker Melissa Andrada who discussed Radical Candor and the effects it can have on a company’s culture.
Later, GRIN Director of Community Katya Allison brought Ebony Haley, Director of Influencer Marketing at Trailer Park Group, and Jess Doherty, Social Media and Influencer Marketing Manager at Osmo Salt, to the stage. The three of them discussed the ins and outs of the creator economy, the gaps in the industry they would love to fill, and their love of GRIN.
After a day full of learning, the GRIN team celebrated at The Park Ultra Lounge, where games of giant Jenga and a lively dance floor swept everyone into a good mood.
On day three, the team gained inspiration from Mechem as he shared his personal story. They also spent time with their teams in breakout sessions, heard from a GRIN investor, and finally reflected on the tremendous experience of the past few days.
